New Moon

At the moment I am reading  New Moon by Stephenie Meyer. When 17 year old Bella met Edward(vampire) in the first book ,twilight, she didn’t now in how much danger she was putting herself in. Edward had already saved her from the clutches of an evil vampire before  but that was just the start…..

I think that this book is very dramatic. It is a love story of a girl and a vampire. Bella and Edward show that they are very persistent working through every problem that comes their way. It also shows that you can make almost anything work if you only try.

In my opinion I think if you like reading books than you should definitely read the twilight series. I can say that even though I am just up to the second book. When you start reading it will take you to another exciting place and I know you will love it.

High Flyers

My parents were impressed that 18 students achieved the High Flyer last term. (I was one of them.)  My mum encouraged me to focus on the term 3 High Flyer because the tasks improve our independent learning. One of this terms High Flyer tasks is to complete the Premiers Reading Challenge sheet. My parents think that this one is a good task because we can choose the books we want to read and because reading can improve spelling, knowledge and imagination. I also like to work on my Personal Research Project. I am doing a movie on Michael Jackson. <3

Abstract Art

<3  Impressionistic art uses colour, line and shape to express the artist’s thoughts, feelings and ideas.

Yesterday we started our Abstract Impressionistic art. I got my idea from one of the pictures Ms. P showed us. I used a lot of shapes and lines. I named it Hippie because Hippies usually wear lots of colour and they are sometimes abstract.

I wanted to use colours such as dark red, brown, green and yellow, but we didn’t have most of those colours. So now it didn’t really turn out the way I wanted it to.When it’s finished it might look better. <3

Book Club Talk

At the moment I am reading A Series of Unfortunate Events. This is my response to the question which character would you like as a friend? Why? Give supporting reason and a clarification. Here it is:In this book I   would most likely be friend with Violet. She is the oldest of three orphans. I would like to be friends with her because she is really intelligent and always invents stuff. It’s good that she is intelligent because she could help me with my homework. She is also very responsible and kindhearted which to me makes a good friend. Something bad always happens to her and her siblings, so I could cheer them up and help them. She is really a good example for me because she nearly always has an answer.

Swimming Lessons !

This week Learning area 20 and 21 went swimming. Many students didn`t come. When we arrived we had to swim in front of the teachers so they could put us into group. There were 8 people in my group. I had a really good teacher. She made it fun. I missed out on 2 days because I was sick with a cold. My highlights were diving, snorkeling and using the life jackets. The only thing that could have been better is doing it in summer so students wouldn`t get sick like I did.

My P.R.P

First of all P.R.P stands for Personal Research Project. I like P.R.Ps because we get to choose our own topic. I chose Michael Jackson because I like his personality and his music and I want to know more about him. I am probably doing it on movie maker. Last year I also did it on movie maker. It`s a different way of doing it. I just don`t know what song to use yet. Any ideas ?     

Michael Jackson !!! <3

The King of pop died on the 25th of June. He was and still is the best singer on earth!!! He will always be remembered by the whole world. He changed the whole history of singing and dancing. He is an idol to everyone. I love all of his songs. Some of my favourites are : Smooth Criminal, Don’t Stop Ti’ll you get Enough, Beat It, Billie Jean, Rock with You, Black or White, Dirty Diana, Man In The Mirrror and the rest of them!!!!!!!!!!  He will live on in his fan’s lives!!! He never did anything to children. People just said that to get money. I don’t care about the plastic 2 surgeries he had, after all what counts is in the inside.

Parent Teach Interviews

2 days ago I had my parent teach interview. I had to make a 2 minute presentation. Some people in my class used the laptops, but I just wanted to use my books. I showed my parents my maths, literacy, reflection and reading book. At the interview I mostly read off my script. I also talked about my goal which is completing this terms High Flyer. Next time I want to learn it off by heart and talk more fluently. I think still went pretty well though. I wasn’t nervous at all because they were just my parents. At the end I think the interview went pretty well, and I am happy with it. 

Power Community Youth Program

Today we had our second visit from the Athletes who work for the Power Community Youth Program. They were Moronia Gerrard, Jonathon Giles and Matt Thomas. They were talking to us about how smoking and taking drugs is bad for you. They talked about all the bad effects it can have, like heart disease and lung cancer. Then we talked about tobacco and what chemicals are in it. Today  I learnt a lot and I think it is good that they are teaching us.

My Learning This Term!!!!!!!!!!

So far this term I have learned a lot of things……too many to list! One that stood out to me personaly was the maths that we did on percentages. Our learning intentionfor that was: To know how to change a fraction into a %. And that was exactly what we have been learning. I am proud of myself because I got it straight  away. This also showed in my report.
